Kampus Sejahtera is a flagship initiative by Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) that embodies the university’s commitment to sustainability, well-being, and holistic development of the campus community. Rooted in the Malaysian philosophy of Sejahtera, it promotes a balanced approach to life—encompassing physical, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, environmental, and social well-being.
As the coordinating body for USM’s sustainability agenda, Kampus Sejahtera leads the implementation of strategies aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It supports institutional alignment, facilitates data collection for sustainability reporting, and ensures compliance with both internal priorities and global sustainability benchmarks.
Kampus Sejahtera takes a comprehensive approach to sustainability, addressing not only programs and operations but also governance, teaching and learning, community engagement, and the built environment. Importantly, it actively includes and empowers students through various sustainability-related activities, leadership roles, and initiatives—fostering a campus culture where all members, especially students, are co-creators of a more sustainable and resilient university environment.
