PENANG: On 17th September 2019, Kampus Sejahtera had organized ‘Kampus Sejahtera Introductory Talk 2019 which was held at Dewan Kuliah Sains Kemasyarakatan (DK SK) 4, School of Social Sciences.
It is a ritual for Kampus Sejahtera to organize this talk annually, using it as a platform to introduce the organisation among the students especially the first years and to attract their attention to be part of the committees of Kampus Sejahtera.
The event began at 9.00pm with the arrival of Dr. Suzyrman Sibly, Director of the Centre for Global Sustainability Studies (CGSS) who is also the Advisor of Kampus Sejahtera, and Dr. Iskandar Shahrim Mustafa, the Coordinator for Kampus Sejahtera, accompanied by the President of Kampus Sejahtera, Sarinah Sabu Rahim.
A welcoming speech was given by the emcee, Muhammad Aufa Azfar Fai Ruzaidi, a second-year student from School of Physics, whom was invited to coordinate the event.
A prayer recital then was led by Mohd Daniel Haiqal Dato Mohd Zulfikar, the team leader of Health team, for the smoothness of the programme.
The programme continued with a welcoming speech from the project director of Kampus Sejahtera Introductory Talk, Muhamad Fadzli Arif Abu Khair, who is also the team leader of Water team.
It was followed by speeches by the special guests and the President of Kampus Sejahtera, Sarinah Sabu Rahim.
To get to the bottom of the programme, the leaders of each team - Water, Biodiversity, Energy, Health, Social and Zero Waste started their presentations and introduced about Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to the attendees.
They explained how the implementation of SDGs has occurred in their past and future programmes of their teams. The attendees of the talk were expected to get the ideas of the impact of the programmes based on the presentation of the leaders.
As for final occasion, the special guests were given tokens of appreciation to honour their presence to the event. For Dr Suzyrman Sibly, the token were handed by Dr Iskandar Shahrim Mustafa, and for the token for Dr Iskandar, it was handed by Sarinah Sabu Rahim as the protocol followed the hierarchy of the organisation.
Before the attendees left the hall, a registration for myCSD for the students was made through online registration to prevent long queue and to cut the time. The link was given on the screen and opened for a duration of five minutes to avoid registration made from students who did not actually come to the talk.
