PENANG : On the 29th of March 2021, Kampus Sejahtera society had conducted an amazing environmental event. The title of this event was 7 Days Zero Waste Lifestyle. Zero waste lifestyle is an act of reducing the amount of rubbish in the environment to ensure a sustainable living. Practising a zero waste lifestyle is extremely essential in order to reduce the impact of climate change.
The prime objective of this event was to spread the awareness on the zero waste lifestyle. This project was held for 7 days which was from the 29th March till 4th April 2021. Many exciting activities were conducted during the seven days. The first activity was Find and reuse things where the participants involved themselves in the activities like planting plan without using pot, creating a gift holder using used boxes and etc. The second activity was Read and Reflection time. The participants were required to read a specific article and do a summary about it. The last activity was Creative Moment. As for this activity, participants were asked to create some creative things. This whole event was held virtually on Telegram and Instagram platforms. The participants who registered for this event were required to join the mentioned Telegram group for more details regarding the event. One of the greatest things about this event was the participants were given flexibility to complete their activities but within the given period of time. After completing the activities, they were required to post on their respective Instagram accounts using the hashtags given later. MyCSD points were given to all the participants who had completed at least 4 activities.
It is an undeniable fact that the participants had gained numerous benefits from this event. They realized the importance of following a zero waste lifestyle and shared the knowledge gained with their families and friends. Besides this, it’s really a proud feeling to mention that the participants had impacted the society indirectly and they will definitely continue to do so.
This event was a huge success as many participants joined and showed their enthusiasm.
