PENANG: On 5 June 2021, Team Health organised a programme called 'Posture Matters' via online platforms such as Google Meet and live sharing on Kampus Sejahtera's official Facebook page. The objective of this programme was to motivate students who are facing stressful situations due to online learning and at the same time to encourage them to do physical activity as the proverb goes all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. The programme was joined by more than 200 students.
The yoga class had invited a special yoga instructor, Ms.Thevagi Narayanan to lead all participants to do yoga to relax. Ms.Thevagi is from Sitiawan, Perak. She owns a yoga studio called Yogasanaz in Jelapang, Ipoh, which provides learners with various types of yoga classes. Madam Thevagi is an extremely well-trained Yoga Master and she has shared her skills to all the participants. Despite being a solo instructor on google meet, all of her movements could be followed by the participants.
In this program, participants are required to follow the postures of our instructor and upload a picture doing yoga in the photo section in a MyCSD form. At the end of the programm we were shocked that many participants are actively submitting their yoga poses and all of them follow the yoga instruction very well.
As promised, Team Health will choose the top 3 best students based on the photo that participante sent. The winners consist of first, second, and third place. The first winner of this program was Jananie a/p Suria Rao, followed by Leong Pui Yee and Lim Jie Ying. As a token of appreciation for the winners, they will receive Mycsd and e-certificate.
This event was considered to be a success due to the large number of participants. Through this programme, we hope that participants can be relaxed and know the benefit of doing yoga. In conclusion, we hope that participants can practice on their own after the program.
