PENANG: From the 7th of June to the 11th of April 2021, Team Zero Waste from Campus Sejahtera society had organized Countdown to Zero: "Road To SDG" video contest as awareness about Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) in themed SDG 2: Zero Hunger or SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production to the society.
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a collection of 17 global goals designed to be a "blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all". The SDGs, set in 2015 by the United Nations General Assembly and intended to be achieved by the year 2030, is part of UN Resolution 70/1, the 2030 Agenda. Related to the theme of SDG 2: Zero Hunger or SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production to the society deals with various important problems like efficient waste management, energy consumption and promotes sustainable lifestyle habits, sustainable tourism, and scientific and technological advances in developing countries.
A video that the participant must follow was, fulfill the theme Road to SDG 2 & SDG 12. Participants were allowed to use Bahasa Melayu or English in the video. Participants were also allowed to choose an option to produce the video whether record themselves presenting talking about the related information or making an animation video in a creative way or both at once. Participants posted the video on their respective Instagram with the hashtags #countdowntozero #RoadToSDG #kampussejahteraUSM and tagged Kampus Sejahtera's Official Instagram @kampus_sejahtera. For USM students they will get MySCD for Every participation.
As the result, the top 3 best students that come out with the most creative and interesting videos were officially announced on Campus Sejahtera's official Instagram and Facebook. The winners consist of first, second, and third place. As a token of appreciation for the winners, they will not only be received MyCsd and E-certificates but grand prizes from the program organizers. The winner got RM80, the second runner-up got RM40 and the third-place got RM30 cash.
To be concluded, let us work together to keep the awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to make the world a better place for all.
